A CULTURE OF GREATNESS
We believe that Greatness is a mindset or a disposition. The Lavergne High School Track and Field program will practice gredatness so that greatness is the normal standard. This is not only applicable to the field or track but also inside the school building. Academic success and high character is very important to the coaching staff at Lavergne High School Track and Field. Below is our Greatness Model:
GROWTH
Great players, business executives, administrators, teachers, and men have a mindset of growth. They never stop growing. They are ever learning. To be great there should areas that you are willing to continue to grow. When you stop growing you will put a damper on your potential.
REPUTATION​
Great players have a reputation intimidates others. Even if it does not intimate others, it makes others respect you. Your reputation is built by what you have done. Make sure you do things that have substance and that will solidify your influence.
EXCELLENCE
​
Greatness requires excellence. People who have the spirit of excellence will accept nothing less than the best. Whatever they do in a kind of detail-oriented way will do things right "all the time." The live above Mediocrity. If you are to be great, you must commit to excellence.
ACHIEVEMENT
​
If you want to be great you must get thing things done! There are people that watch things happen then there are people that make things happen. Great men/women are achievers. They see things through. They complete assignments quickly and effectively. We will make this our daily attitude.
TOUGHNESS
​
In life there will be resistance. Things will not always go your way. People will not always like you nor support you. Resentment and ridicule are things you may have to experience. You must build a certain level of toughness to endure these moments in life. Great men/women are tough! They are not easily distracted nor derailed but have learned how to overcome obstacles.
